NAIROBI, Kenya- The Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition is gearing up for a leadership shakeup, with former Nairobi Town Clerk Philip Kisia proposed to take over as Executive Director.
Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka announced the decision, emphasizing Kisia’s extensive credentials and vision for the coalition’s future.
Kalonzo Musyoka lauded Kisia’s broad experience spanning public service, private sector leadership, and grassroots engagement as key qualifications for his nomination.
“Mr. Kisia’s background makes him uniquely qualified to lead Azimio’s Secretariat as we transition into a more inclusive and forward-looking coalition,” Musyoka remarked.
Kisia, who is no stranger to public administration and corporate leadership, is expected to bring strategic direction to Azimio’s Secretariat during this critical period. His expertise aligns with Azimio’s evolving goals to strengthen coalition dynamics and foster nationwide inclusivity.
As Kisia steps into this pivotal role, Musyoka took a moment to recognize Hon. Zein Abubakar for his contributions as head of the Wiper Party’s Presidential Secretariat.
Abubakar’s six-month tenure, marked by intellectual rigor and a commitment to activism, has left a lasting impact on the coalition’s strategy.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Zein Abubakar. His rich academic background and years of activism have greatly enriched our People’s Team,” Musyoka noted.
In addition to Kisia’s appointment, Musyoka hinted at plans to onboard more team members aligned with Azimio’s mission to uphold democracy and counter authoritarianism.
The coalition aims to strengthen its foundation by rallying individuals committed to the cause of constitutional democracy and governance reforms.
