Nairobi to Host Landmark World Chambers Summit: ‘A First for Africa’

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- For the first time in its 75-year history, the World Chambers Federation (WCF) Summit will take center stage in Africa.

Slated for April 9–11 in Nairobi, the summit, themed “Africa’s Global Future: Integrated, Innovative, and Sustainable,” aims to spotlight Africa’s potential in global trade, investment, and development.

Kenya’s hosting of this prestigious event marks a pivotal moment for the continent.

According to Eric Ruto, President of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), the summit underscores Kenya’s role as a strategic business hub and a vital player in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA).

“This event is not just a win for Kenya but a recognition of Africa’s capabilities in the global marketplace,” Ruto said. “It’s our chance to shine, but we also need to address infrastructure gaps to compete effectively on a global scale.”

The summit promises to bring over 4,500 delegates and 350 exhibitors from more than 50 countries to Nairobi.

Attendees will explore new opportunities across industries like agriculture, healthcare, energy, and tourism, setting the stage for transformative partnerships.

Beyond its headline-grabbing scale, the summit is a golden ticket for Kenyan entrepreneurs.

With a focus on fostering collaboration, the event will provide local businesses, particularly startups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), with direct access to global networks.

“This summit offers a platform for entrepreneurs to engage with international stakeholders, exchange ideas, and find solutions to common challenges,” the KNCCI president emphasized.

However, the KNCCI president was quick to note that regulatory hurdles, limited financing, and systemic inefficiencies continue to hinder growth for many businesses across the continent.

The summit will tackle these issues head-on, with tailored sessions aimed at empowering startups and SMEs to thrive in a competitive global economy.

This summit isn’t just about Kenya—it’s about reimagining Africa’s place in global trade.

By showcasing the continent’s capabilities and addressing structural barriers, the WCF event could unlock untapped economic potential.

As the global spotlight turns to Nairobi, the summit will serve as a critical milestone in positioning Kenya—and Africa—as a dynamic force in international trade.

With collaboration, innovation, and investment on the agenda, the event promises to leave a lasting legacy.
