NAIROBI, Kenya- In a vibrant and well-attended event in Nairobi on Friday, Y News made its grand debut, ushering in a new era of digital journalism.

It was graced by legendary journalists, including the esteemed Judy Kaberia, a senior Project Manager at Friedrich Naumann Foundation, who applauded the initiative as a much-needed addition to the media landscape.

Others included Crime Journalists Association of Kenya Secretary General Akello Odenyo, International Commission of Jurists-Kenya Communications boss Shukri Wachu and Amnesty International-Kenya official Rajab Ramadhan, among a dozen others.

“Y News is a game-changer in the way we consume news,” said Kaberia. “Its focus on development and technology is exactly what we need to keep up with the rapidly evolving world. I’m excited to see where they take this.”

At the helm of Y News is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Joseph Muraya, a seasoned journalist with a vision to revolutionize storytelling in the digital age.

Muraya, who has made significant contributions to Kenyan journalism, expressed his excitement about the launch and shared his aspirations for the platform.
