NYAHURURU, Kenya – Former Nyandarua County Governor Daniel Waithaka and five former county officials will learn their fate on March 13, 2025, when the Anti-Corruption Court in Nyahururu delivers its ruling in a Sh50 million graft case.
The case, which has been ongoing for years, took a significant turn after the court determined that the prosecution had presented sufficient evidence to warrant the defense’s response.
This decision placed Waithaka and his co-accused—Grace Wanjiru Gitonga, Martin Igecha Kamami, John Ngigi Daniel, Jesse Wachira Mwangi, and Simo Irungu—on trial for corruption-related offenses.
The six are accused of violating the Public Procurement and Disposal Act of 2006 by illegally engaging Israeli firm M/S Tahal Consulting Engineers without a proper procurement plan during the 2013/2014 financial year.
