Kenya Will Become Global Tech Powerhouse, Says Deputy President Gachagua

NAIROBI, Kenya – Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has emphasized Kenya’s potential to emerge as a global technology powerhouse, following a high-level meeting with representatives from the International Association of Science Parks and Innovation (IASP) on Monday.

The meeting, held at the Deputy President’s office, comes just ahead of the highly anticipated IASP World Conference, set to take place at Konza Technopolis on Tuesday.

The conference is expected to spotlight Kenya’s digital future and its role in global innovation.

Led by IASP President Lena Miranda and CEO Ebba Lund, the delegation discussed opportunities to unlock Kenya’s untapped technological potential.

The event is geared toward exploring how Kenya can leverage science parks and innovation hubs to drive economic growth through digital transformation.

“We are excited by the huge technology opportunities this conference brings to our nation and the unwavering commitment to unlocking digital opportunities for Kenya,” Gachagua stated.

Public Secretary for ICT and Digital Economy John Tanui and Konza Technopolis CEO John Paul Okwiri also attended the meeting, signaling Kenya’s readiness to showcase its growing innovation ecosystem at the international forum.

The IASP World Conference at Konza is expected to attract global leaders in technology and innovation, marking a significant moment in Kenya’s journey toward becoming a leading hub for digital enterprise in Africa and beyond.
