NAIROBI, Kenya- The “Go Green with Taiwan” initiative has spotlighted the world’s brightest minds in sustainability, and a Kenyan company is among the standouts. Eco Nasi, a trailblazer in sustainable fashion, emerged as a semi-finalist in the prestigious global competition.
Launched by the Taiwan International Trade Administration (TITA) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the competition attracted a staggering 396 proposals from 45 countries.
While Eco Nasi didn’t secure a top-three spot, their innovative approach to eco-friendly fashion showcased Kenya’s growing reputation as a hub for environmental creativity.
The challenge invited participants to integrate Taiwanese sustainable solutions into meaningful projects.
Cynthia Kiang, Director General of TITA, praised the ingenuity of global submissions, highlighting the role of international collaboration in fostering a greener future.
With a 1.5pc chance of making it to the final six, the competition was fierce. Simon Wang, President and CEO of TAITRA, lauded the efforts of all participants, emphasizing the groundbreaking ideas submitted.
The top three winners will each receive $20,000 to further their initiatives, setting a high benchmark for future editions.
Wang expressed gratitude to Taiwan’s international allies, including Kenya, for championing the project’s vision of protecting the planet through innovation.
Go Green with Taiwan seeks to merge global ingenuity with Taiwan’s cutting-edge green technologies, offering a platform for individuals, institutions, and organizations to tackle pressing environmental challenges.
