VFS Global Surpasses 300 Million Applications, Setting New Milestones in Visa Outsourcing

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- VFS Global, the world’s leading outsourcing specialist for visa, passport, and consular services, has reached a remarkable milestone: processing over 300 million applications globally.

The achievement highlights the organization’s resilience, innovation, and commitment to efficiency, even in the face of challenges like the pandemic-driven travel slowdown.

In the last five years alone, VFS Global has processed its most recent 100 million applications, a feat made more impressive by the travel restrictions of 2020–2022.

In 2023, the company handled 24.1 million applications—an impressive 35pc increase from 2022. Between January and May 2024, VFS was managing approximately 100,000 applications daily, further solidifying its status as a global leader in the sector.

Founder and CEO Zubin Karkaria celebrated the milestone, attributing it to the trust placed in VFS by 70 governments across 152 countries.

“This is a testament to the reliable, secure, and innovative services we provide,” Karkaria said, adding his gratitude to both client governments and visa applicants.

VFS Global’s reputation for secure and efficient services has earned it long-term partnerships with 25 governments for over 15 years.

In 2023, it secured seven major outsourcing contracts, including exclusive partnerships with UK Visas and DHA Australia. Renewed agreements with countries like Germany, Japan, and Portugal underscore the trust governments place in VFS’s capabilities.

Innovation remains at the heart of VFS Global’s success. The company has introduced 16 unique digital solutions and built eVisa platforms for 12 sovereign governments.

It has also processed over 144 million biometric enrollments since 2007, showcasing its leadership in biometric technology. Its Multi-Mission Model (MMM) biometric kits are now setting a new standard for governments integrating advanced enrollment systems.

As the demand for seamless visa services grows, VFS Global is turning to generative AI (GenAI) to enhance the customer experience.

The company has partnered with the Responsible AI Institute to ensure ethical AI usage and established AI hubs in Mumbai and Dubai, with plans to open another in Berlin.

With a focus on leveraging technology and human capital, VFS Global aims to sustain its growth trajectory while maintaining the high standards that have become its hallmark.
