NAIROBI, Kenya- If strength had a name, it would be Esther. If resilience had a face, it would be hers. If love had a home, it would be in the warmth of her embrace.
Today, on International Women’s Day, I celebrate my mum—not just because she is my mother, but because she is the kind of woman who deserves to be honored every single day.
Esther is the kind of woman who never backs down from a challenge. Life has thrown its fair share of storms her way, yet she has faced each one with grace and unwavering determination.
She has shown me that resilience isn’t about never falling—it’s about getting up every time, with even more strength than before.
She is the kind of woman who loves without limits. Whether it’s in the way she cares for family, friends, or even strangers, her heart is endless.
She has given without expecting anything in return, teaching me that true kindness isn’t loud—it’s in the everyday sacrifices, the silent prayers, the unwavering support.
She is the kind of woman who believes in others, even before they believe in themselves.
She has been my greatest cheerleader, my quiet refuge, and my voice of reason when the world gets too loud.
She has taught me to stand tall, to know my worth, and to always, always keep pushing forward.
If I am strong, it’s because I was raised by strength. If I am kind, it’s because I was raised by love. And if I am here, standing tall and proud, it’s because I had Esther to guide me.
So today, and every day, I celebrate her—and all the incredible women like her.
May we never take their love, sacrifices, and quiet power for granted.
Happy International Women’s Day, Mum. You are everything a woman should be, and more.
