Burna Boy Drops ‘For Everybody’ Featuring African Sports Icons Ahead of AFCON Final

RABAT, Morocco — Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy has released a new single, For Everybody, accompanied by a visually striking music video directed by acclaimed filmmaker Dave Meyers, blending African sport, culture, and music at a pivotal continental moment.

The release coincides with the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2026 Final between Morocco and Senegal, reinforcing the project’s pan-African message of unity, resilience, and shared legacy.

The music video features an ensemble of celebrated African athletes and football icons, including Victor Wanyama, Benni McCarthy, Asisat Oshoala, Eduardo Camavinga, Nico and Iñaki Williams, Odion Ighalo, Claude Makélélé, Christian Karembeu, Alex Song, and Cheslin Kolbe.

Through choreographed movement, high-fashion styling, and symbolic storytelling, the visuals draw inspiration from African football culture, stadium rituals, and the collective spirit that defines the sport across the continent.

Athletic drills, ceremonial poses, and communal scenes mirror the song’s central theme — achievement built through shared struggle rather than individual glory.

The release was further amplified by Burna Boy’s live performance at the AFCON Last Dance event held at the Olm Souissi Fan Zone in Rabat on January 16, where thousands of fans gathered on the eve of the tournament’s climax.

For Everybody arrives at a moment when Burna Boy continues to consolidate his influence as one of Africa’s most globally recognised music exports.

The On The Low hitmaker recently dominated the 9th All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), held in January 2026, where he won Album of the Year for his 2025 project, No Sign of Weakness.

He also claimed the Best African Collaboration award for Laho, a hit track featuring Shallipopi, further underscoring his cross-generational and cross-border appeal within the Afrobeats movement.

Beyond continental recognition, Burna Boy has continued to make history on the global stage. He became the first Nigerian artist to earn five career Grammy nominations in album categories, a milestone that reflects the sustained international reach of his work.

For the upcoming 68th Grammy Awards, scheduled for February 2026, he has received nominations for Best Global Music Album (No Sign of Weakness) and Best African Music Performance for his single Love.

These nominations follow an exceptionally successful 2025, during which Burna Boy also secured multiple honours at The Headies, including Best Live Performer, cementing his reputation as one of the most commanding stage acts in contemporary African music.

With For Everybody, Burna Boy once again positions his music at the intersection of culture, sport, and continental identity — a statement piece that aligns African excellence across disciplines, while reinforcing his role as a leading voice in global Afrobeats.
