Social media influencer Diana Kemunto has shared intimate details about her short-lived relationship with singer Iyanii, shedding light on why their romance ended and what the experience was really like behind the scenes.
In a candid interview with media personality Alex Mwakideu, Kemunto described the relationship as emotionally draining and largely one-sided, revealing that she struggled to feel appreciated throughout their time together.
Kemunto and Iyanii first went public with their romance in September 2025, when the singer introduced her on stage during a performance at the Mkisii Festival, even serenading her in front of fans.
The couple quickly became one of Kenya’s most talked-about celebrity relationships, openly discussing their unconventional approach to dating.
At one point, Iyanii said the pair were on a celibacy journey and waiting for marriage, revealing that he was committed to abstinence.
However, what appeared to be a fairytale romance publicly was, according to Kemunto, far more complicated privately.
One of the most surprising revelations from Kemunto’s tell-all interview was that she never visited Iyanii’s home during the entire relationship.
She explained that the singer was extremely private about his personal life and never allowed her to know exactly where he lived.
“I never got to know exactly where he stays,” Kemunto revealed.
She said the secrecy affected her emotionally, noting that whenever she tried to raise the issue, the conversations often turned tense. To avoid conflict, she sometimes chose not to press the matter further.
Kemunto admitted the situation left her feeling insecure and uncertain about the seriousness of their relationship.
Beyond the secrecy, the influencer said she rarely felt valued by the musician.
According to Kemunto, she could not point to anything meaningful that made her feel the relationship was genuine.

Another unusual aspect of their romance was a relationship agreement that Kemunto says she personally drafted.
She explained that the document outlined expectations and boundaries for both of them, including how they would handle public matters related to their relationship.
Part of the agreement reportedly included rules about social media and how they would address the public if the relationship ended.
Kemunto said the idea came from her desire for clarity and fairness in the relationship.
She also revealed she was willing to contribute financially to activities or dates if the burden was too heavy for Iyanii, emphasizing that relationships should be partnerships.
Kemunto revealed that the breakup happened shortly after her birthday on January 1, when she spent the first few days of the year with the singer.
After those meetings, she realized the relationship was no longer working.
“After that is when I concluded that it was over,” she explained
Instead of immediately addressing the split publicly, she chose to remain silent for months while processing the breakup.
Reports indicate the couple’s relationship lasted about four months before it came to an end.
Despite the emotional attachment she once had, Kemunto says she has now moved on and does not see the possibility of getting back together with Iyanii.
She admitted she had given the relationship a chance but ultimately felt the singer had shown her there was no need to try again.
The influencer described the experience as a learning moment that taught her important lessons about self-worth and emotional boundaries.
