Nadia Mukami has appealed to the public for help after losing her original Gucci hat at a Nairobi restaurant, an incident that quickly sparked debate online around celebrity lifestyle, responsibility, and public spaces.

The award-winning artist revealed that the hat went missing while she was at Taidy’s Tavern in Upper Hill, where she had stepped out for a brief meeting. Taking to her Instagram Stories, Nadia explained that she left the cap on the table momentarily, only to find it gone when she returned.

“I was at Taidy’s in Upper Hill, I left my hat on the table and when I came back it was gone,” Nadia shared. “Please, if you picked it by mistake, just return it.”

The singer emphasized that the cap was an original Gucci piece, pushing back against assumptions that it might have been a replica. “It’s original Gucci,” she stated, adding that the item was expensive and held value beyond just fashion.

In an effort to recover it, Nadia publicly offered a cash reward to whoever returns the hat. “If you have it, I’m willing to pay. Just bring it back,” she said, urging honesty rather than confrontation.

Her appeal was quickly picked up by entertainment blogs and circulated widely across social media, with fans reacting instantly. While some sympathized with the singer, others questioned why such a high-value item would be left unattended in a public setting.

“People are asking why I left it there — lakini things happen,” Nadia responded, addressing the criticism directly. “You don’t expect someone to take something you left for a minute.”

In a moment that blended frustration with humor, the “Sijui” hitmaker added a joking remark that further fueled online conversation. “Please don’t force me to use traditional methods,” she quipped.

“This is Nairobi, people should be careful,” one fan commented, while another wrote, “If you picked it by mistake, returning it is the decent thing to do.”
