Miami’s skyline sparkled a little brighter on Sunday, August 10, as Afrobeats superstar Davido and his longtime love Chioma Rowland exchanged vows in an opulent white wedding.
The celebration came after their traditional wedding in Lagos in June 2024 and their court marriage in March 2023 — but this, Davido said, was the “dream finish” to their journey down the aisle.
The couple spared no expense, with Davido revealing he spent a staggering $3.7 million in cash on the event.
The waterfront venue was transformed into a scene out of a luxury fairytale: cascading white floral installations framed the altar, gold-accented décor glimmered under soft amber lights, and crystal chandeliers reflected the panoramic view of Miami’s oceanfront.
Guests were welcomed with champagne towers and a live string ensemble, setting a romantic tone before the bride’s grand entrance.
The guest list glittered with heavyweight names from business, politics, and entertainment. Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, mingled alongside former Senate President Bukola Saraki and Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is also Davido’s uncle.
The music world was well represented by Zlatan Ibile, Adekunle Gold, Teni, Tunde Ednut, and Poco Lee, while socialites Obi Cubana and Ubi Franklin added their own flair to the festivities.
Still, not everyone could make it. Chioma’s parents were unable to attend due to visa issues, as was close friend Cubana Chief Priest.
The Miami celebrations had kicked off the night before with an intimate yet stylish pre-wedding party. Held at a plush waterfront location, the evening oozed elegance and anticipation. Chioma and Davido had a Havana-themed party.
The room buzzed with laughter, clinking glasses, and surprise performances. At one point, Davido grabbed the mic for an impromptu serenade.
The afterparty pulsed with energy. A live DJ mixed Afrobeats with global hits, keeping the dance floor packed well into the early hours. Guests enjoyed gourmet bites, signature cocktails, and a jaw-dropping fireworks display over the water.
Videos from the night showed Davido and Chioma laughing, dancing, and sharing intimate moments surrounded by their closest friends and family.
