Virginia ‘Gina’ Huynh—publicly identified as “Victim3” in the federal indictment against hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs—has submitted a formal letter to a judge urging the court to grant Combs bail ahead of his October 3 sentencing.
Combs was convicted earlier this summer on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges.
In a letter filed on August 3, Huynh, who previously accused Combs of violent abuse during their relationship from 2014 to 2019, described him as a reformed man and supportive father. She stated that Combs “has not been violent for many years,” and said he has remained “cooperative, respectful, and compliant” throughout the legal process.
The defense submitted Huynh’s letter in support of Combs’s latest bail request, which proposes a $50 million bond. Prosecutors, however, have strongly opposed his release, citing his past violent conduct toward multiple women, including Huynh. A previous bail motion was denied for similar reasons.
Huynh, once expected to be a key witness for the prosecution, did not testify during the trial. She and her attorney became unreachable in the lead-up to court proceedings, and she ultimately withdrew from the case.
Despite her prior public accusations—including claims that Combs punched and stomped her—Huynh now says he no longer poses a threat to her or to the public. “By the time our relationship ended, he embodied an energy of love, patience, and gentleness markedly different from his past behavior,” she wrote.
She expressed support for allowing Combs to await sentencing at home, noting that it could “support healing and reduce disruption,” especially for his children.
Combs remains in custody at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, deemed by the court as a possible danger to his former partners. His attorneys argue that continued detention is punitive, especially given the acquittal on the most serious charges.
If the conviction stands, Combs faces up to 20 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for October 3, 2025.
