Kasarani MP Ronald Karauri Challenges Blogger Edgar Obare Over Alleged Sex Video

SportPesa CEO and Kasarani MP Ronald Karauri has publicly challenged blogger Edgar Obare to release an alleged video purportedly showing him engaging in sexual activity with another man.

In a video statement, Karauri dismissed the claims as fabricated and offered Sh10 million to Obare if the video is made public, calling the allegations false and defamatory.

Karauri denied the existence of any compromising footage and accused Obare of pushing what he described as a false narrative.

“First of all, to the point, I am extremely straight. I’m the straightest guy you’ll ever meet,” Karauri said.

“If I’m going to have any issues, it’s going to be with women.”

The Kasarani MP claimed that the alleged story circulating online was politically motivated and part of an agenda meant to tarnish his reputation.

“Edgar Obare, this fake story of yours is totally fabricated, and you know it. I don’t know what agenda you’re going to push. If it’s about extortion, money I have for you,” he stated.

Karauri said he was willing to pay Obare Sh10 million if the blogger could produce and share the alleged video by 5 p.m. the same day.

“I’m giving you up to end of day today, 5 p.m., share this video,” Karauri said. “The money I have here for you is 10 million shillings. You share the video at 5 p.m. today. Put it out there.”

He added that the video could be subjected to AI verification to determine its authenticity.

“You’ll put it in AI, we can verify all those things. Just put the video there, the video you’re talking about. I’ve got 10 million shillings for you.”

However, Karauri maintained that he believes the video does not exist.

“And since I know that video does not exist, what I’ll do with this money when you are unable to produce the video — 8 million will go to my foundation. We continue supporting our children,” he said.

According to Karauri, the remaining Sh2 million would be distributed to support local sports initiatives.

“Two million, we’ll give it to my fighters. I’ll give one million for my Kasarani people to attend the fight, and the other one million they can use as prize money,” he added.

Karauri suggested that the situation amounted to attempted extortion, though he did not provide specific details of any alleged demands.

“So, Edgar, it’s on you, man. Share a video. Even me, I want entertainment. Entertain us, please,” he concluded.

As of publication, Edgar Obare had not publicly responded to the challenge.
