Sean Combs’ Release Date Revised: What the New Timeline Means

Trending

The prison release date for music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has officially been revised. This moves up his release by several weeks amid ongoing legal proceedings and participation in a federal rehabilitation program.

According to updated federal inmate records, Combs is now expected to be released on April 25, 2028, earlier than the previously projected date of June 4, 2028.

The shift marks the latest adjustment in a case that has drawn global attention and significantly altered the career trajectory of one of hip-hop’s most influential figures.

The revised timeline is largely linked to Combs’ participation in the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP), a structured federal prison initiative that allows eligible inmates to earn sentence reductions upon successful completion.

RDAP is known to provide up to a 12-month sentence reduction for non-violent offenders who meet strict criteria and complete the intensive program.

While the exact reduction granted in Combs’ case has not been publicly detailed, legal experts note that federal time calculations can also shift due to good conduct credits and administrative reviews.

Combs is currently serving his sentence at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution, a low-security federal facility.

The April 2028 release projection is not the first change to Combs’ timeline. Earlier records had initially indicated a May 2028 release, before it was pushed back to early June 2028.

The latest update moves it forward by approximately six weeks.

Legal analysts say such changes are not unusual in the federal system, particularly for inmates actively engaged in programs like RDAP.

Combs’ legal team continues to pursue appellate remedies that could potentially affect his sentence further.

If a higher court reduces or overturns aspects of the conviction, the release date could change again.
