Donald Trump has made his feelings about the Super Bowl halftime show crystal clear, and he is not a fan.
Shortly after the big game, the former U.S. president took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to criticise the show headlined by the Puerto Rican superstar, calling it a major disappointment and questioning why the NFL chose the global hitmaker for the coveted slot.
“Absolutely terrible — one of the worst halftime shows ever,” Trump wrote. “This is not what the Super Bowl is supposed to be about.”

The 2026 Super Bowl (Super Bowl LX), held on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, featured the Seattle Seahawks representing the NFC against the New England Patriots from the AFC.
The Seahawks won the game 29–13, claiming their second Super Bowl title in franchise history, with the championship marking the NFL’s 60th Super Bowl edition.
Bad Bunny led the halftime show with a performance heavily rooted in Caribbean and Latin culture, delivering much of the set in Spanish and featuring elaborate choreography and guest appearances. The show marked one of the most Latin-forward halftime performances in Super Bowl history.
Trump, however, took issue with both the music and presentation. In his post, he criticised the language used during the performance, writing, “Nobody understands what he’s saying,” before adding that the show “made no sense at all.”
He also criticised the choreography and overall production, saying it was “inappropriate” and “not something families should be watching.”
Trump’s comments immediately set social media ablaze, with reactions pouring in from fans, critics and celebrities.
While some of his supporters agreed with his assessment, many rushed to defend Bad Bunny, praising the performance’s energy, visuals and cultural significance.
The NFL has not responded directly to Trump’s remarks.
The league has previously stated that halftime performers are selected based on cultural relevance, reach and global appeal. In recent years, the Super Bowl stage has increasingly reflected a more diverse range of artists and musical styles.
Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, remains one of the most influential artists in the world.
He has consistently ranked among the most-streamed musicians globally and has played a key role in bringing Spanish-language music into mainstream pop culture.

Trump’s criticism also reignited discussion around Bad Bunny’s recent absence from U.S. concert stages in the 2025-2026 touring period.
The artist has previously said he avoided touring the continental United States due to concerns about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity around large events.
He cited fears that fans could feel unsafe attending shows during heightened immigration crackdowns.
Despite the backlash from Trump, the halftime show dominated online conversation throughout the night. Clips from the performance trended across social platforms, with many viewers praising the visuals, choreography, and representation of Latin culture on a global stage.
Trump, meanwhile, doubled down on his stance, writing, “The Super Bowl deserves better.”
