NAIROBI, Kenya — Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has strongly condemned the hooliganism that led to the abandonment of the Nairobi United versus Gor Mahia match, warning that such conduct will not be tolerated in Kenyan football.
In a statement on Sunday, Mohammed said FKF has formally initiated disciplinary proceedings, with the incident referred to the federation’s judicial bodies for determination.
He added that club and match officials have been instructed to record statements, while criminal investigations are being pursued in collaboration with relevant authorities.
The FKF boss also expressed solidarity with Azam TV Kenya following the vandalism of its broadcast van during the chaos, stressing that broadcasters and other partners must be protected.
“Those responsible will be held accountable,” Mohammed said, as FKF moves to enforce discipline and restore order in local football.
