Former TV news anchor Jacque Maribe has made a heartfelt public appeal for financial support to help cover funeral and burial expenses following the death of her father, Maribe Mwangi, earlier this week.
In a statement released on Friday, December 26, 2025, Maribe asked friends, family, and well-wishers to assist the family as they prepare to lay her father to rest.
She explained that the long illness her father battled had placed significant financial strain on the family, prompting the appeal for support.
“We humbly request your prayers and financial support so that we may give our Mheshimiwa a befitting send‑off. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way in helping our family honour his legacy,” Maribe said.
She also shared the Paybill number 4813691, asking contributors to include their names as the account reference.
Maribe Mwangi passed away on December 22, 2025, after a prolonged illness. According to the family, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, affectionately known as “Mheshimiwa” by many who respected him within the community.

The family has announced that the memorial service will take place on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Worldwide Gospel Church in Buruburu, along Rabai Road near Rubis Petrol Station, ahead of the burial scheduled for Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the family’s home in Gathaithi Village.
Daily planning meetings are ongoing to ensure the services run smoothly and accommodate the extended family and community.
Maribe was deeply affected by her father’s passing, expressing her grief on social media as she reflected on the close bond they shared.
She highlighted her father’s support during significant moments in her life and thanked well-wishers for their messages of comfort.
In a touching social media post, she wrote about how difficult it is to accept life without him, adding that she finds solace in knowing he is no longer in pain.
The heartfelt message drew a wave of condolences from fans, colleagues, and personalities across social platforms.
Close friends, including political commentator Dennis Itumbi, also publicly honoured Mwangi’s life, describing him as a loving and welcoming father figure who stood by his daughter through both triumphs and challenges.
Social media users have rallied around her appeal, sharing their condolences and, in many cases, urging contributions where possible.
