Kenyan actor and content creator Daddie Marto has finally spoken out after weeks of online uproar, offering an emotional and pointed response to the explosive allegations of cheating and domestic violence made by his estranged wife, Koku Lwanga.
In a detailed two-page statement shared on his social platforms today, Marto set the record straight — or at least, his side of it — declaring that he had remained quiet “to protect his children” but was now ready to correct what he called “harmful distortions” of the truth.
“I have lost my family as I knew it. And that loss has been louder in my heart than anything said about me online,” he wrote.
In June, Koku Lwanga shocked the internet when she accused the Sue na Jonnie star of infidelity and physical assault, claiming she found him in a separate unit with another woman and that a confrontation turned violent. She shared alleged photos of injuries and said neighbors had to intervene.
Marto in his recall of events revealed that he was already living apart from Koku after a mutual separation in December 2024, and had moved into a separate house in April 2025.
According to him, he returned to their former shared compound on the night in question, while on a video call, and began recording the interaction — a suggestion from a therapist.
Marto alleges that the situation escalated and that he was the one injured in the altercation. He says he sustained an eye injury, which he has not made public due to ongoing investigations.
“There is a police report. There is an open case. There is evidence. But I will not try this case on social media,” he stated firmly.
Despite the speculation that Marto would “come clean,” the actor denied all allegations of infidelity, manipulation, and abuse. He insisted there has never been a pattern of violence in their relationship and called out what he described as a dangerous and damaging narrative.
He maintained that public opinion, though loud, does not equal the truth — and hinted that legal steps are already in motion.
“Facts aren’t decided by volume; they’re proven with evidence,” he said. “I will not allow my name, my life, and my livelihood to be tried in the court of public opinion.”
Marto also addressed Koku’s accusations of abandonment and neglect. He said that even after their separation, he continued to pay over half the rent for their shared home, in addition to footing bills for school, utilities, and health insurance. He claims all these contributions are documented.
He further revealed that the couple had initially agreed to issue a joint statement in May to clarify their status but that the plan never materialized. Instead, the issue spilled into the public domain without his input — until now.
Closing the statement, Marto urged fans and media alike to respect the sensitive nature of the situation, especially given that children are involved. He said he hopes to now “heal privately, even while living publicly,” and thanked those who had shown him grace and withheld judgment.
As social media continues to buzz, both parties now say they are relying on legal systems to handle the matter.
For now, fans are left parsing statements, watching timelines, and waiting to see what the courts — and time — will ultimately reveal.
