Pastor and motivational speaker Robert Burale has filed a Sh20 million defamation suit against his ex-wife, Rozina Mwakideu, and her brother, media personality Alex Mwakideu, over remarks made in a YouTube interview earlier this month.
According to court papers filed at the Milimani Chief Magistrates’ Court, Burale accuses the two of publishing and promoting false and malicious statements that allegedly damaged his reputation as a pastor and public figure.
The case arises from an interview titled “My Biggest Mistake Was Marrying Robert Burale”, which premiered on October 4, 2025, on the Alex Mwakideu TV YouTube channel. In the suit, Rozina and Alex are listed as the first and second defendants, respectively.
Burale, who describes himself as a “cleric of national repute,” claims the interview portrayed him as manipulative, hypocritical, a swindler, and homosexual — allegations he says are untrue and intended to tarnish his integrity and ministry.

He further accuses Alex of professional negligence, alleging that the broadcaster failed to verify the claims or offer him a right of reply before airing the interview.
The pastor also faults Alex for allegedly urging viewers to “share widely,” which he says worsened the reputational harm.
“The statements lowered my reputation among right-thinking members of society, subjected me to ridicule and mental anguish, and jeopardized my ministry and livelihood,” Burale states in the affidavit.
The preacher now seeks a mandatory and permanent injunction compelling removal of the video and any related posts, as well as a public apology and deletion of all re-uploads.
He is also demanding Sh20 million in general and aggravated damages, plus costs of the suit.
Court documents also reference a Radio 47 segment aired on October 7, where Alex allegedly sought to distance himself from some of the remarks made during the YouTube interview.
The matter has been filed under the court’s fast-track procedure, and the defendants are yet to file their responses.
