Pastor Victor Kanyari Eyes Sh90 Million Runda Mansion for His Children

Controversial preacher Pastor Victor Kanyari has revealed plans to acquire a Sh90 million mansion in Runda, Nairobi’s elite residential estate, in a move he says is intended to provide a secure and comfortable home for his two children following the death of gospel singer Betty Bayo, their mother.

The announcement has generated public interest and debate, with questions about the property, his motivations, and the broader implications for his public image.

Runda is one of Nairobi’s most exclusive neighborhoods, known for large plots, gated communities, and upscale properties.

Pastor Kanyari told reporters that his current home in Njiru was no longer suitable for his children, Sky Victor and Danivictor, particularly in light of their mother’s passing.

“We found one [house] going for Sh 90 million. It even has a swimming pool … My kids will be swimming there,”

Kanyari also disclosed that he considered a cheaper alternative listed at Sh 45 million but rejected it in favor of what he considers a more suitable home for his children. He emphasized that the move is not tied to remarriage but purely to secure a better environment for the children.

The news of Kanyari’s planned acquisition has elicited mixed reactions. Some supporters have lauded the preacher for prioritizing the welfare of his children.

Others have questioned whether the move is more about image management than parental care, especially given Kanyari’s history of controversy, including allegations surrounding the infamous ‘310 seed money’ scandal.

Pastor Kanyari has attributed his financial ability to a combination of church donations, business ventures, and social media engagements, including TikTok live sessions. He previously claimed to have earned Sh 400,000 from a single online livestream.

While this suggests he has some liquidity, critics argue that funding a KSh 90 million mansion may require substantial borrowing or additional support, especially considering the obligations of raising children and sustaining a ministry.

This would not be Kanyari’s first foray into high-profile real estate. Media reports have previously linked him to a 16-bedroom house along Kangundo Road, reportedly built at a cost of Sh 50 million, although some of these claims were disputed.

Such acquisitions have always attracted public scrutiny, with debates around the morality and transparency of pastors acquiring luxurious properties while followers donate to their ministries

Runda remains one of Nairobi’s most sought-after addresses, with luxury properties depending on size and amenities.

Acquiring a home in this neighborhood positions Kanyari among the city’s affluent residents and can serve both personal and symbolic purposes.
