KIAMBU, Kenya – Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters have arrested Peter Maingi Kimani, also known as Menelik Kimani, following the circulation of a video containing a message on his TikTok account earlier this week.
The message was addressed to President William Ruto. He had given Ruto a 7-day notice for war.
The suspect was traced to his hideout in the Gachage area of Kiganjo, Gatundu South Sub-County, where he had been evading authorities, the DCI said.
He is currently in DCI custody, undergoing processing ahead of his arraignment in court.
In a statement, the DCI reminded the public that freedom of expression, while guaranteed under the Constitution, must not be used to violate the rights of others.
