Gachagua Meets Kirinyaga DCP Aspirants, Promises Free and Fair Party Nominations

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has met more than 130 aspirants from Kirinyaga County seeking various elective seats under the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), promising transparent party nominations ahead of the next general election.

Speaking after hosting 134 aspirants at his Wamunyoro residence, Gachagua said the party is committed to conducting free and fair nominations for all positions.

The aspirants are seeking to contest for positions including Governor, Senator, Woman Representative, Members of the National Assembly, and Members of the County Assembly.

Gachagua urged the aspirants to intensify efforts to recruit more party members, noting that the party primaries will be conducted using the official party membership register.

He also challenged them to work hard on the ground to secure electoral victories, while sharply criticising political rivals aligned to William Ruto.

“All traitors of the Kenyan people and our community who are helping William Ruto persecute our people must be voted out without fear or favour,” Gachagua said.

The meeting is seen as part of Gachagua’s efforts to strengthen the grassroots structures of DCP as the party positions itself for upcoming political contests across the country.
