NAIROBI, Kenya – A domestic flight carrying 50 passengers veered off Taxiway Echo shortly after landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has confirmed.
In an official statement, KAA said all passengers and crew members were safely accounted for, with no reported injuries.
Airport operations have remained normal, and emergency response teams were immediately activated to manage the situation.
“The authority is working closely with the relevant aviation agencies to ensure the safe removal of the aircraft,” KAA Ag Managing Director Dr Mohamud Gedi said.
Emergency Response and Investigation Underway
Airport officials said the aircraft came to a safe stop after veering off the taxiway, and investigations into the cause of the incident are ongoing.
The airline and airport authorities are working together to determine whether mechanical issues, pilot error, or other factors contributed to the deviation.
