KJSEA 2025: Learners Can Now Check Their Senior School Choices via SMS as Results Near Release

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya – Families across the country now have a quicker way to confirm senior school selections for Grade Nine learners, thanks to a newly activated SMS service tied to the 2025 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA).

Instant School Selection Check

Teachers, parents and learners were on Thursday, December 4, advised to send the learner’s assessment number to 22263 to receive a full list of the schools they selected based on their preferred career pathways.
Each SMS costs Sh30, according to a notice from a leading telecom operator.

The move offers early clarity for households as they prepare for the next stage of the Competency-Based Curriculum transition into senior secondary.

Exam Results Expected Soon

The update comes just weeks after Basic Education PS Julius Bitok confirmed that this year’s examination results would be released before or by December 11.

More than one million learners sat for the KJSEA between October 27 and November 3, 2025, and the Ministry of Education says it is fully prepared to manage the nationwide transition.

Although KNEC has not yet formally released the results, placement into senior schools is expected within a week after the official announcement. Students are expected to access their admission letters before December 25 and report to their new institutions by January 12, 2026.

KNEC Flags Rising Fraud Attempts

In a warning issued on Wednesday, December 3, KNEC alerted the public to be cautious of individuals posing as insiders able to alter examination results for a fee.

The Council stressed that no one can change a candidate’s score, urging parents and learners to avoid falling victim to scams.

As the country awaits the official KJSEA results, the SMS service now provides a verified channel for checking school selections early—helping reduce misinformation and easing the pressure during this crucial transition period.
