NAIROBI, Kenya -Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has shared the latest coordinates of two lionesses spotted outside Nairobi National Park, in the Sholinke Trading Area, approximately 8.3 kilometers from the park boundary.
The animals were recorded at 37 M 261961 UTM 9834651, according to KWS.
Rangers are on site, with veterinary teams en route to safely dart, capture, and relocate the lionesses back into the park.
The operation is ongoing, with authorities emphasizing that public safety is the top priority.

Wildlife experts say incidents like this highlight the growing urban-wildlife interface challenges in Nairobi, as expansion and encroachment bring humans and predators closer together.
KWS continues to monitor the lionesses’ movements to ensure both the safety of the community and the animals.
The alert follows a series of similar wildlife incursions in areas bordering Nairobi National Park, reinforcing the need for vigilance and adherence to KWS advisories.
