ELDORET, Kenya — The 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results show that national schools produced the highest number of top-performing students, according to the Ministry of Education.
Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba said that 1,526 candidates from national schools attained an overall mean grade of A, followed by Extra County schools with 197 candidates and private schools with 185.
Sub-County schools outperformed County schools in the C+ and above category, with 72,699 candidates meeting the benchmark compared to 36,600 from County schools.
“These results reflect the varied performance across different school categories and highlight the impact of resources and academic support,” CS Migos noted.
The Ministry continues to focus on improving teaching quality and ensuring equitable access to education to sustain high performance nationwide.
