ODM’s Oburu Urges Full Implementation of Raila-Ruto 10-Point Agenda Before 2027

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya — Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Dr. Oburu Oginga has urged for the full execution of the 10-point agenda agreed upon by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and President William Ruto, stressing that all issues should be addressed before the 2027 General Elections.

Speaking at Chungwa House following a meeting with newly elected ODM Members of Parliament, Dr. Oburu described the agenda as central to national unity and development, urging the party to remain vigilant and active.

“We are in a broad-based arrangement where we have a 10-point agenda which we want to see implemented fully before the 2027 elections. This is what we stand for,” he said.

The ODM leader also lauded the party’s performance in the recently concluded by-elections, describing the results as a win for the collaborative arrangement between ODM and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

“We are very happy and proud because where we fielded our candidates for parliamentary seats, we succeeded in all of them. Where our partners, the UDA, also fielded candidates, they succeeded as well. This broad-based arrangement succeeded in all the parliamentary seats that were up for grabs,” Dr. Oburu said.

Accompanied by ODM deputy leaders Abdulswamad Nasir, Godfrey Osotsi, and Simba Arati, he stressed the importance of sustaining party strength and cohesion.

“This is not a time for us to sleep; this is a time for us to work, deliver, and strengthen our party. ODM must remain strong. It is a national party, not a party for any particular area, but a party for the unity of Kenya and for the future of the country,” he added.

Dr. Oburu also highlighted the youthful composition of the new MPs, underscoring generational continuity within the party.

“The people who have been elected here are Gen Zs like me. Our party must remain strong, and members of ODM should be proud. If we don’t work hard to make our party strong, we risk being taken for granted,” he said.
