NAIROBI, Kenya — The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has opened a portal for aspirants seeking to contest various positions in its upcoming Polling Center Congress elections, the party announced on Monday.
The party said the registration portal will allow individuals across 42 counties to submit their candidacy ahead of repeat Phase III elections on March 7, 2026, and Phase II elections on March 28, 2026.
In a statement, UDA Secretary General, former Senator Omar Hassan, said the portal is part of a wider effort to organise party grassroots elections in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
“The portal enables aspiring candidates to formally register and participate in the Polling Center Congress elections. This is a key step in ensuring inclusive and transparent internal party processes,” said Omar.

The party also announced the establishment of a “UDA Aspirants Forum” to meet the growing demand of individuals seeking elective positions.
The inaugural meeting of the forum is scheduled for February 4, 2026, at 8:00 AM at State House, Nairobi. A detailed notice on the forum will be issued in due course.
The UDA SG was flanked during the briefing by National Chairperson Cecily Mbarire, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwa, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, NEB Chair, National Treasurer Japhet Nyakundi, Deputy Vice Chair Anthony Mwaura, Kelvin Lunani, and other party directors.
The party reiterated that the Special National Governing Council (NGC) meeting will take place on January 26, 2026, at 8:00 AM at State House, Nairobi, bringing together all UDA elected leaders, including Governors, Senators, Members of the National Assembly, Women Representatives, EALA Representatives, MCAs, and nominated officials. The meeting will be chaired by Party Leader and President William Ruto.
