Woman Arrested After Allegedly Firing AR-15 at Rihanna’s Los Angeles Home

Date:

LOS ANGELES, United States — Police have arrested a woman accused of firing multiple gunshots at the luxury home of global pop star Rihanna in Los Angeles while the singer and her family were reportedly inside.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said the suspect allegedly opened fire on Sunday afternoon from a white Tesla parked across the street from the property in an upscale neighbourhood.

Authorities identified the suspect as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, who was arrested roughly 30 minutes after the incident at a nearby shopping complex.

Police said she has been booked on suspicion of attempted murder, with bail set at $10.225 million.

The rifle used in the attack

According to LAPD officials, the weapon used in the shooting was an AR-15-style rifle.

Captain Mike Bland told reporters that investigators recovered evidence linking the suspect to the shooting after responding to emergency calls about gunfire.

Aerial footage broadcast by local media showed bullet holes in the gate of the sprawling property, which the singer shares with rapper A$AP Rocky and their three children.

Authorities confirmed that people were inside the home during the attack, but no injuries were reported.

Investigation underway

Police say the suspect allegedly stopped her vehicle across the street before firing several rounds toward the property’s entrance gate.

Officers later tracked her down and made the arrest at a nearby shopping centre shortly after the incident.

Investigators have not yet disclosed a possible motive, and it remains unclear whether the suspect had any personal connection to the singer.

Rihanna, one of the world’s most successful music artists and entrepreneurs, has not publicly commented on the incident.

Security concerns for celebrities

The shooting highlights ongoing security risks faced by high-profile celebrities in the United States, where luxury homes belonging to entertainers and athletes have increasingly become targets for intrusions and violent incidents.

Authorities said the case remains under investigation as prosecutors review the evidence to determine formal charges.
