NAIROBI, Kenya — Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions affecting parts of six counties on Sunday, December 21, 2025, as the utility undertakes routine maintenance works on its power network.
According to a notice issued by the company, the outages will affect sections of Machakos, Kajiado, Bomet, Narok, Uasin Gishu, and Kisumu counties, with interruptions scheduled to run between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. in most areas.
In Machakos County, power will be interrupted along Mombasa Road, affecting Game Ranch, Mall World, Primarosa, Safaricom premises, and adjacent customers from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
A similar outage will affect Mlolongo, including Beijing Road, Greatwall Apartments, Kutchi Road, Allpack Industries, Blowplast, Sanden and neighbouring areas during the same period.
In Kajiado County, the outage will cover the whole of Acacia, affecting areas such as Deliverance Road, St Liliana, Baraka Road, Baloozi Road, Tropican, Chuna, Safaricom 1&2, Muigai, Police Sacco, Ideal, parts of Ongata Rongai, Enkasiti Resort, Exotic Peninah, Riverine, Global Village, Lake Oil Korompoi, Kajiado East Technical, Kwa Monica Juma, Archichem, Antilog, Jumbo Tank, Zenmar Steel, Kentaurin, and Eden Park, among others, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Parts of Bomet County will also experience interruptions from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Bomet Township, Tenwek Hospital, Siongiroi Market, Silibwet Market, Kapkwen, Sigor, Longisa, Mulot, Motigo Tea Factory, Stegro Tea Factory, Green Fields, and Kisiet Tea Factory.
In Narok County, the planned outage will affect Narok Township and surrounding markets, including Suswa, Ntulele, Nenkare, Majimoto, Ewaso Ngiro, Ololulunga, Olposhapani, Olmegenyu, Lemek, Nkorkonri, KDF Camp Nkorkonri, Mulot, and several other centres between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
In Uasin Gishu County, power will be interrupted in Rivatex, Kipkaren Estate, and Baharini from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while in Kisumu County, the outage will affect Ombeyi, including Ombeyi School, Ombeyi Market, Ramula Primary, Onyalo Biro, Keyo Primary, YAWO Primary School, and Kango Primary School during the same hours.
Kenya Power advised affected customers to plan accordingly and apologised for any inconvenience caused, noting that the maintenance works are aimed at improving reliability of electricity supply.
