Kindiki Represents Ruto at Botswana Presidential Inauguration, His First International Trip as DP

NAIROBI, Kenya- Kenya’s Deputy President Kithure Kindiki recently touched down in Botswana to represent President William Ruto at the inauguration of newly elected President Duma Boko. 

Kindiki arrived at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport, receiving a warm welcome from Botswana’s government officials. 

This diplomatic visit underscores Kenya’s continued commitment to fostering strong relations with Botswana, a partnership rooted in shared goals and mutual respect.

Kindiki commended the people of Botswana for their dedication to democratic principles, expressing admiration for the peaceful elections that brought Boko into office. 

“Kenya salutes and commends the people of Botswana for exercising their civic and constitutional rights in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility,” Kindiki stated on X, highlighting Botswana’s commitment to civic engagement. 

This gesture of respect aligns with Kenya’s own dedication to democracy and serves to further strengthen the ties between the two nations.

In his remarks, Kindiki highlighted the ongoing collaboration between Kenya and Botswana in a range of sectors, including trade, security, education, agriculture, and energy. 

These collaborations are pivotal as both nations work to drive economic growth and regional stability. 

Kenya’s close partnership with Botswana offers ample opportunities for shared initiatives in areas such as agricultural innovation and energy development, contributing to the advancement of the African Continental Free Trade Area and other regional integration projects.
