NAIROBI, Kenya- A disturbing video has emerged showing a Dutch national insulting and throwing mucus at a police officer while in custody at Diani Police Station.
The man, identified as Elwin Ter Host, had been arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend at Boma Banda Cottage along Beach Road in Diani.
In the video, Ter Host can be seen hurling insults at the duty officer before blowing his nose on his shirt and flinging mucus toward him.
The officer remains calm and professional despite the provocation.
Police say they rescued the victim, 32-year-old Atieno, who was rushed to hospital for treatment. Detectives later recovered suspected cocaine from the suspect’s residence.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing and that the foreign national will face charges including assault, drug possession, and disorderly conduct.
Locals describe Ter Host as a well-known foreigner in Diani, said to operate an Airbnb business in the area.
