President Ruto to Deliver 2024 State of the Nation Address in Parliament

NAIROBI, Kenya – President William Ruto is scheduled to deliver the annual State of the Nation address to a joint session of Parliament on November 21, Speaker Moses Wetang’ula announced.

The address will mark the president’s second since taking office in 2022, outlining his administration’s progress and plans for the future.

Speaker Wetang’ula informed the house of the upcoming address, saying, “I wish to inform the house that I have received a message from His Excellency the President conveying that he intends to deliver the 2024 State of the Nation Address in Parliament on Thursday, November 21, 2024.”

The speech is expected to cover significant achievements under Ruto’s administration, including measures to boost national security and uphold Kenya’s constitutional values.

The annual address, mandated by the Constitution, provides the president an opportunity to update lawmakers and the public on the government’s efforts and challenges in addressing key national issues.

As per tradition, the president’s address will likely touch on Kenya’s economic trajectory, social policies, and legislative agenda, outlining the administration’s strategies for bolstering security, economic growth, and national unity.

Ruto’s speech is expected to set the tone for upcoming legislative and policy priorities as his administration seeks to fulfill its promises to Kenyans amid ongoing economic and social challenges.
