KCSE Results Portal Faces High Traffic of Upto 300,000 Hits Per Second: “Be Patient”

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has announced that the portal for checking the 2024 KCSE examination results is fully operational, despite experiencing high traffic due to an overwhelming number of requests.

Candidates and parents eager to access results have been flooding the system, with up to 300,000 hits per second being recorded.

In a tweet, KNEC acknowledged the minor delays in feedback but assured Kenyans that all candidates would access their results without issue.

The delays, they explained, are due to the unprecedented volume of traffic on the portal, as thousands of users attempt to retrieve results simultaneously.

“Kenyans are urged to remain patient as we work to ensure a seamless experience for all. The portal is functional, and we guarantee that everyone will be able to access their results,” the tweet read.

Candidates can check their KCSE results online via the KNEC portal or through SMS services provided by mobile network operators.

For online access, users need to log into the portal using their index numbers and examination year credentials.

The SMS service, which requires candidates to send their index numbers to 20076, has also been in high demand.

The Council has encouraged users to space out their attempts to access the portal to ease the strain on the system and reduce waiting times.

“We appreciate the enthusiasm and understand the anxiety among candidates and parents. We remain committed to providing reliable service during this important moment,” KNEC added.

The 2024 KCSE results release has drawn widespread attention as candidates nationwide await their scores to plan their next academic or career steps.

With over 900,000 candidates sitting the exams, the high demand for results underscores the importance of digital solutions for education in Kenya.

KNEC reaffirmed its commitment to supporting all users and promised to optimize the system to handle future surges.

As the portal remains under heavy traffic, candidates are reminded to remain calm and patient, knowing that access to results is guaranteed.
