NAIROBI, Kenya – The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reopened its online application portal for students seeking admission to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions ahead of the September 2025 intake.
In a public notice issued on Sunday, KUCCPS said the opportunity is open to all KCSE certificate holders who sat their examinations between the year 2000 and 2024.
Depending on performance, applicants will be considered for different training levels, ranging from Artisan to Diploma.
Minimum Entry Requirements
- Artisan Certificate (Level 4): Minimum KCSE grade of E
- Craft Certificate (Level 5): Minimum grade of D
- Diploma Courses (Level 6): Minimum grade of C- (minus)
To make the application process more accessible, KUCCPS has waived all application fees for this intake.
Application Guidelines
Prospective students can apply through the KUCCPS Student Portal at students.kuccps.net.
Detailed application instructions have also been provided on the agency’s website, www.kuccps.ac.ke. The application window will remain open until July 31, 2025.
Students who require assistance can visit the nearest public TVET institution or Huduma Centre.

Focus on 100% Transition and Skills Training
This move is part of the government’s broader strategy to achieve a 100% transition from basic to tertiary education, particularly for learners who did not qualify for university admission.
It also aims to provide youth with hands-on skills that promote self-employment and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
KUCCPS, a State Corporation established under the Universities Act No. 42 of 2012, coordinates the placement of government-sponsored students to universities and colleges.
Avoid Common Mistakes
In a recent advisory posted on its social media platforms, KUCCPS highlighted common mistakes students make during application.
These include:
- Entering incorrect contact details, resulting in missed communication.
- Failing to submit the application after selecting courses in the basket.
- Using M-Pesa transaction IDs instead of the correct eCitizen account codes for payment validation.
KUCCPS urged applicants to double-check their entries and ensure successful submission to increase their chances of placement.
