NAIROBI, Kenya – President William Ruto has reappointed Bishop Robert Theuri Maina as the Chairperson of the Kenya National Library Services (KNLS) Board, extending his leadership at the institution for another two years.
Theuri, who first took over the role in February 2023, replacing Omar Jibril Mohammed, will now serve until 2027.
His reappointment was confirmed in a gazette notice dated February 28, 2025.
The Kenya National Library Services Board oversees the management and development of public libraries across the country, playing a crucial role in promoting literacy and access to knowledge.
New Appointments Across Key Government Agencies
Alongside Theuri’s reappointment, several other government boards have seen new faces following appointments by various cabinet secretaries.
National Museums of Kenya – Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi appointed Paul Nduati as a board member for a three-year term.
Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) – Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi named Jeremiah Obingo to the board, replacing Abraham Kipruto. Obingo’s term will also run for three years.
Kenya Wildlife Board of Trustees – Tourism CS Rebecca Miano appointed Rachael Adhiambo Omollo to serve as a board member for the next three years.
Tea Board of Kenya – Agriculture CS Mutahi Kagwe reappointed Charles Kirgiwi, Florence Mutembei, and Kennedy Mochere Kaburi for another three-year term.
