Woman Accuses Samidoh of Rape in U.S., Moves to High Court for Justice

Date:

Nairobi, Kenya- Popular Kikuyu musician Samuel Muchoki Ndirangu, better known as Samidoh, is facing serious allegations after a Kenyan woman filed a petition in the High Court accusing him of raping her while on tour in the United States.

The woman, identified only by her initials M.R.W. in court documents, claims the assault occurred on November 28, 2021, at an Airbnb in Overland Park, Kansas.

Allegations of Assault Abroad

In her sworn affidavit, the petitioner says Samidoh invited her to his residence and later forced himself on her despite her repeated pleas for him to stop. She described the encounter as a “horrific sexual offence” committed against her will.

According to the filings, she reported the matter to the Overland Park Police Department, which registered it under Case No. 2023022021 before forwarding it to the Kansas District Attorney’s Office. To date, the case has not gone to trial, and no conviction or acquittal has been recorded.

Legal Battle in Nairobi

Through Kaaya Memba & Company Advocates, the woman has petitioned the High Court under case number E569 of 2025, accusing Kenyan authorities — including the Inspector-General of Police, the DCI, the DPP, and the Attorney General — of failing to act on her formal complaint lodged in June 2025.

She argues that under Section 41 of the Sexual Offences Act, Kenyans can be prosecuted locally for sexual crimes committed abroad, provided sufficient evidence is presented.

Among the evidence she claims to have preserved are digital recordings, electronic messages, and audio files allegedly capturing interactions with Samidoh. In one exchange, she says the singer insulted her by calling her a “professional prostitute” when she attempted to confront him.

The petitioner further alleges that between 2021 and 2023, the artist engaged in a pattern of manipulative communication — alternating between friendliness and intimidation. She insists that the state’s inaction has violated her constitutional rights, including dignity, security, fair administrative action, and access to justice.

Her petition seeks several urgent interventions, including:

  • An order compelling police to register and investigate her complaint.
  • Preservation of her digital evidence.
  • Directions to the Attorney General to initiate mutual legal assistance with U.S. authorities for certified records.
  • A risk assessment and possible inclusion under the Witness Protection Agency due to fear of harassment.

What Lies Ahead

The woman warns that unless the court steps in, she will continue to suffer psychological harm, her preserved evidence may be compromised, and the musician’s alleged impunity will remain unchecked.

Samidoh, who is listed as an interested party in the petition, has not publicly commented on the matter.
