NAIROBI, Kenya — The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced that the 2026 Administrative Officers’ Examination will take place from Monday, April 13, to Friday, April 17, in Machakos.

To qualify, applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from a recognised university, be serving Administrative Officers who have completed the Induction Course, and have a minimum of six months’ service in their current role.
First-time candidates are required to submit certified copies of their appointment letter as an Administrative Officer, National Identity Card, academic certificates, and proof of completion of at least a one-month induction course. Two coloured passport-size photographs on a white background must also be attached. Candidates who had previously been referred need only submit the photographs.
The Commission stated that first-time applicants must complete Registration Form A, while referred candidates should fill out Form B. Both forms are attached to the notification circular and are accessible via the PSC website at www.publicservice.go.ke.
Completed registration forms, along with the government copy of the receipt generated from the e-Citizen platform, must be submitted to the Secretary/Chief Executive Officer, Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 30095-00100, Nairobi, no later than Friday, March 13, at 5.00 p.m.
Regarding fees, PSC indicated a basic examination fee of Sh3,500, plus Sh875 per paper for the eight papers, and an e-Citizen access fee of Sh50. Candidates are required to attempt all eight papers during the first sitting.

Payments must be made through the e-Citizen platform by logging into https://psc.ecitizen.go.ke. Applicants are instructed to select PSC Examinations, choose the type of examination and examination centre, confirm the accuracy of details, and submit their application.
Approval from the Commission must be obtained before completing payment and downloading the government copy of the receipt to attach to the registration form.
PSC said these steps are intended to streamline the examination process and ensure transparency and compliance with established administrative procedures.
