Andrew Kilonzo Takes Helm of EABL As Ocitti Exits

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya— East African Breweries Plc (EABL) has appointing Andrew Kilonzo as its incoming Managing Director.

Kilonzo, currently leading Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL), is set to succeed Mark Ocitti, who will exit the business on September 30 after ten years of service.

His leadership at UBL has been marked by a consistent upward trajectory in both operational efficiency and market presence according to the brewer.

The company says the leadership transition is part of a deliberate strategy to strengthen its regional footprint and unlock future growth opportunities.

Returning to EABL’s Nairobi headquarters is Yvonne Mwangi, who currently leads operations across Seychelles and the Indian Ocean. Mwangi has been appointed as the new Commercial Director for Kenya, effective October 1, 2025.

She brings with her over 15 years of industry experience, with a strong track record in commercial strategy and brand building.

“These appointments reflect EABL’s strong succession pipeline and our continued investment in leadership development across our markets,” said Jane Karuku, Group Managing Director.

“I am confident this leadership team will steer our performance, deepen market penetration, and champion inclusion and diversity.”

The appointments signal a renewed corporate energy at EABL, as it places trusted hands at the wheel to guide the company through its next growth phase.

According to EABL,the reshuffle also underscores EABL’s emphasis on nurturing talent from within and reimagining leadership across its East African operations.
