Late gospel musician Betty Bayo will be laid to rest in a series of carefully planned funeral ceremonies that reflect both her spiritual legacy and her deep connection to family. The multi-venue arrangement combines public memorials, tributes from fans, and a private interment on her personal property, giving mourners multiple opportunities to celebrate her life.

The public memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Christian Foundation Fellowship (CFF) Church along Kiambu Road. Bishop Michael Wanderi, who has led the church for many years, said the service will begin at 2:00 PM and encouraged Kenyans from all walks of life to attend.

“Betty Bayo was a devoted servant of God and a beacon of hope to many,” Bishop Wanderi said in a statement on Friday. “This memorial is not only an opportunity to mourn her passing but also to reflect on her remarkable ministry and her impact in gospel music.”

During the service, family members and church leaders will deliver tributes highlighting her life and ministry.

Following the church memorial, the main funeral service will be held at Ndumberi Stadium in Kiambu County, where a larger audience of fans, fellow musicians, and community members will gather. The stadium has been chosen to accommodate the many mourners expected, given Betty Bayo’s popularity across Kenya and beyond.

According to the family, the stadium service will be the centerpiece of public mourning, providing a platform for national tributes. Key figures in gospel music, including past collaborators and church leaders, will be invited to give eulogies. Fans are encouraged to attend but to observe decorum befitting a solemn occasion.

The final interment will take place at Betty Bayo’s private parcel of land in Mugumo Estate, along Kiambu Road. The family emphasized that this personal plot, purchased by Betty herself, holds deep sentimental value and was intended as her final resting place. “Betty planned this meticulously,” said her brother Charles. “This land represents her love for her family and her desire to be laid to rest with dignity.”

The funeral arrangements have drawn significant public attention, with social media users expressing grief, solidarity, and admiration for Betty’s contributions to gospel music. Tributes have flooded platforms, highlighting her uplifting songs, charitable work, and mentorship of younger musicians.

The burial committee has issued clear instructions for mourners. Attendance at the CFF Church service and Ndumberi Stadium will be open to the public, but the interment at Mugumo Estate will remain private, reserved for close family and invited guests. Security will be tight throughout, and parking arrangements at both venues have been coordinated with local authorities to ensure smooth movement and safety for attendees.

Family members have urged fans to observe health and safety protocols while attending the services, noting the importance of a peaceful and respectful farewell. In addition, they encourage anyone unable to attend in person to participate via livestreams organized by select media outlets covering the events.
