Businesswoman and influencer Cebbie Koks (Elseba Awuor Kokeyo) known for her bold takes and unapologetic lifestyle is displeased at a new and controversial fashion twist in the nightlife scene—club staff and entertainers dressed in school uniforms.
Taking to Instagram, Cebbie posted a picture that has been circulating online showing young women—allegedly nightclub waiters—dressed in outfits resembling high school uniforms. While some saw it as harmless themed fun, Cebbie wasn’t buying it.
“I’ve came across an unsettling photo where waiters in nightclubs are being dressed in school uniforms. Let’s be clear: this is not creativity, it’s a dangerous normalization of child sexualization.” she wrote.
The post was sharp, and straight to the point. “School uniforms are symbols of innocence, learning and childhood,” she continued.
Within minutes, her comments section lit up with fans both agreeing and disagreeing. Many applauded her for drawing the line.
“100% in agreement-some of the guys in charge of entertainment in clubs are very clueless with equally clueless owners.” Chris Kirwa wrote.
“Lets stop normalizing children being sexualized!” added @chichi9610.
Others, however, came to the defense of the clubs, insisting it was simply themed dressing.
“C’mon guys, this happens everywhere. It’s just part of nightlife culture,” one user argued, while another added, “It’s harmless fun. People are overreacting.”
Her post taps into a bigger conversation about where creativity in fashion and entertainment ends and controversy begins.
Nightclubs and entertainment spots often push the envelope when it comes to themed nights—think neon, fantasy cosplay, or even retro disco. But for Cebbie, using school attire in such settings blurs boundaries and sends the wrong message.
School uniforms, often seen as a symbol of innocence and childhood, can feel unsettling when transplanted into adult entertainment spaces. For some, it’s edgy; for others, it’s simply inappropriate. And Cebbie made it clear she stands firmly in the latter camp.
