Photojournalist and civic education advocate Allans Ademba has intensified efforts to mobilize young voters ahead of the 2027 General Election, bringing together a powerful lineup of celebrities and influencers under the #TukoKadi initiative.

The campaign, which is rapidly gaining traction online and on the ground, aims to encourage voter registration among Kenya’s youth, a demographic often credited with the power to shape the country’s political future.

Ademba, known for his vocal advocacy on civic responsibility and governance, recently extended an open invitation to public figures to join the movement.

His call has since been answered by several personalities who are now confirmed to participate in the upcoming Niko Kadi voter registration drive scheduled for Tuesday next week.

Among those who have committed to the initiative is rapper and activist Octopizzo, who will be engaging with residents in Kibera. Widely respected for his grassroots influence and community work.

Comedian and activist Eric Omondi will spearhead mobilization efforts across five constituencies in Embakasi. Known for blending comedy with social commentary, Eric has increasingly taken on civic roles, making him a strategic voice in encouraging youth participation in electoral processes.

In Lang’ata, content creator Real Bugi will join the campaign, while fellow influencer Nicki Big Fish is set to engage residents in Kibra.

Both personalities boast strong digital followings, positioning them as key conduits for reaching younger, online audiences who may be disengaged from traditional civic education channels.

Also confirmed is Willie Oeba, who will be active in Embakasi East, alongside Charisma, who will support mobilization efforts in Kibra.

Their involvement underscores a growing trend where influencers are stepping beyond entertainment to play more active roles in national conversations and civic engagement.

The #TukoKadi campaign, is centered on the importance of acquiring a voter’s card, a crucial requirement for participation in Kenya’s elections.

With the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) expected to intensify voter registration ahead of the 2027 polls, initiatives like Niko Kadi are seen as timely interventions to bridge the gap between awareness and action.

Supporters have been encouraged to keep tagging and spreading the message online, a strategy that has already begun to generate buzz across platforms.

Organizers are optimistic that the combined influence of celebrities, grassroots mobilizers, and digital communities will translate into tangible outcomes at voter registration centers.

With the 2027 General Election on the horizon, the #TukoKadi initiative is emerging as a notable example of how civic engagement can be reimagined in the digital age.
