DP Kindiki Stands Strong Behind President Ruto as Mt. Kenya Tour Kicks Off

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya – Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to supporting President William Ruto’s leadership, despite suggestions to oppose the Head of State.

Speaking to a crowd in Ngarachi, Laikipia County, Kindiki said his primary focus is on defending and supporting President Ruto as they work toward a better future for Kenya.

In a powerful statement, Kindiki acknowledged the increasing pressure from unnamed sources who have urged him to challenge President Ruto.

However, the Deputy President stood firm in his role, asserting that his job is to support the President and help implement his ambitious development agenda.

“Some people are advising me to fight the President. My job is to support the President, defend him, and work with him to ensure the promises made to the people of Kenya are fulfilled,” Kindiki remarked.

This bold declaration emphasizes Kindiki’s dedication to remaining a loyal ally to the President, even as political pressures swirl around them.

His statement follows months of speculation over the dynamics within Kenya’s ruling coalition, with some questioning whether the Kindiki would maintain his allegiance to Ruto or succumb to dissenting voices within the party.

Unity in Leadership for National Progress

Kindiki further reassured both President Ruto and the Kenyan people that he remains steadfast in his commitment to national progress.

He emphasized that together with the Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and all other government officials, they would stay focused on delivering tangible results.

“We will not waste time fighting with people who have no agenda for the country,” he stated. “Our focus is on serving the people, not engaging in fruitless political squabbles.”

The Deputy President’s remarks came as he and President Ruto began their weeklong tour of the Mt. Kenya region, with the first leg of their visit taking them to Laikipia County.

The tour is seen as a critical part of the administration’s efforts to engage directly with local communities and emphasize its commitment to addressing the region’s development needs.

As the President and his Deputy continue their outreach, they are expected to engage with local leaders and citizens to push for key policies that align with the government’s vision.
