Nairobi, Kenya- Vera Sidika has responded sharply to recent online claims suggesting she is broke and homeless, using a mix of evidence, calm defiance, and her signature flair to clarify her current living and financial situation.
In a series of Instagram stories this week, the socialite gave her followers an inside look at her upscale home and day-to-day life, putting to rest widespread speculation that she had been kicked out of her Kitisuru residence.
She shared videos of her spacious and well-furnished house, showing off sleek white interiors, high ceilings, chandeliers, and floor-to-ceiling curtains—reminding her audience she’s still living large.
“People are really out here inventing wild things,” she wrote. “You’re homeless in a mansion now?”
The rumors appear to have stemmed from a string of anonymous blog posts and commentaries that circulated earlier this month, implying the former reality star had fallen on hard times. One particularly viral post alleged that Vera was living in a “tiny two-bedroom apartment” and had secretly sold her luxury cars.
She addressed those claims head-on—just days after unveiling her brand new Range Rover Sport, reportedly worth KSh 18 million. The reveal was deliberate. “They said I sold all my cars. Lol. I was actually adding one,” she wrote alongside a video showing the luxury SUV being delivered.
The post was met with mixed reactions on social media. On X (formerly Twitter), user @KaranjaKe commented, “Say what you want about Vera, but she knows how to shut people up without talking too much.” Another user, @Nduta_wa_Nairobi, wrote, “I love this level of silent clapping back. Not with noise, just proof.”
Others were more skeptical. One comment under her video read: “We get it. But also…why address every rumour?” — reflecting the ongoing debate about how public figures should handle online chatter.
Vera didn’t stop at showing off her home and new vehicle. She also leaked screenshots of private WhatsApp conversations with her household staff, where her nannies appeared to laugh off rumors that they were unpaid or mistreated. She used the opportunity to correct the narrative and clarify that she employs four full-time house managers, each earning KSh 40,000 per month.
“It’s funny how people with zero evidence speak the loudest,” she wrote in a caption.
Beyond the flashy rebuttals, some fans noted a shift in tone from Vera, one that was less about clout and more about personal dignity. Her posts weren’t saturated with hashtags or brand tie-ins. This felt more like someone trying to clear the air than promote a lifestyle.
“Not everything you read is the truth. Some of it is just noise,” she wrote. “And you can’t expect me to respond every time—only when it matters.”
