Job Alert: Kenyan State Agencies Announce Dozens of Government Vacancies Across Key Sectors

NAIROBI, Kenya — Dust off your CV, because the Kenyan government just dropped a buffet of new job opportunities, and it’s not your usual round of recycled listings.

In the latest edition of My Gov, several public institutions have posted a wide range of vacancies that cut across water infrastructure, academia, ICT, health, law, and more. If you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is it.

Central Rift Valley Water Works

Leading the hiring charge is the Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency, which has advertised a whopping 41 vacancies.

The agency is scouting for talent to fill both senior and technical positions. At the top of the list is the role of General Manager for Infrastructure Development and Management. The agency is also in search of civil engineers, both principal and entry-level, along with inspector water engineers.

But it doesn’t stop at engineering. There are openings for a sociologist, a senior accountant, and an accounts assistant.

Administrative and communication roles have also made the cut, including slots for a senior administrative officer, corporate communications assistant, and officer.

Additional vacancies span across legal, ICT, supply chain, internal audit, water quality, hydrogeology, and even five driver positions.

Notably, applications must be submitted in hard copy by May 29, 2025. Management applications should be addressed to the Board Chairman, while all other roles should be directed to the Chief Executive Officer.

Taita Taveta University Hiring Across Schools and Support Departments

Meanwhile, Taita Taveta University is also expanding its team, with multiple openings targeting professionals in science, education, welfare, and technology.

The university is looking for three chief technologists and a technologist for its School of Science. The Department of Students’ Welfare is also hiring, with posts available for a principal student counselor and a sports and games assistant officer.

In the health division, the university is seeking a nursing officer and a medical lab technologist. There’s also room for an assistant ICT officer specializing in software development, plus administrative assistants and ICT support technicians.

On the academic side, opportunities abound for associate professors, senior lecturers, and lecturers across the schools of science, informatics, education, and agriculture.

National Museums of Kenya Posts Legal and Survey Roles

Over at the National Museums of Kenya, five positions are up for grabs for professionals in estate management, legal services, and land surveying.

The institution is hiring a principal and assistant land surveyor, a principal estate management officer, a legal officer, and an assistant legal officer.

If you’ve got experience in real estate or legal compliance within heritage or conservation frameworks, this might be your niche.

Applications must be submitted before May 20, 2025, with detailed requirements and application procedures outlined on the Museums’ vacancies page.
