NAIROBI, Kenya – Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan has condemned the killing of 17-year-old Ibrahim Ramadhan Chege, who was fatally shot in the head by a police officer in Majengo on Monday evening.
Chege succumbed to his injuries shortly after being rushed to the hospital.
His death has sparked outrage, with Hassan demanding urgent action against the officer responsible.
“The senseless killing of Ibrahim is a tragedy that deeply saddens and angers me,” the MP said in a statement on his X account. “His life, full of potential, was cruelly cut short.”
Hassan described the shooting as part of a troubling pattern of police violence, calling for immediate accountability.
He urged the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) to launch a swift and thorough investigation.
“This is not an isolated incident. The officer responsible must be apprehended and held accountable for his actions,” he stated.
