NAIROBI, Kenya – The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced traffic disruptions along the Bomas–Kiserian road to allow for ongoing construction works aimed at improving safety and strengthening road infrastructure.
In a notice issued Friday, the agency said the affected section runs from Brookhouse Galleria to past the Catholic University of Eastern Africa junction, where two new box culverts are being constructed.
Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes, including:
- Lang’ata Road – Lang’ata South Road – Kiboko Road – Banda Lane – Magadi Road
- Lang’ata Road – Lang’ata South Road – Kiboko Road – Mukoma Road – Magadi Road
KeNHA Acting Director General, Eng. Luka Kimeli, said the closure is necessary for the timely completion of the works.
“The disruption is essential for the successful implementation of this project, which will enhance road safety and reduce flooding risks,” he said.
The authority urged drivers to follow the diversion plan, observe road signage, and cooperate with traffic police and marshals deployed to manage flow.
KeNHA assured road users that measures have been put in place to minimise inconvenience during the project period.
The agency, established under the Kenya Roads Act, is mandated with the development, rehabilitation, management and maintenance of national trunk roads.
