NAIROBI, Kenya– Motorists using the Nairobi–Nakuru–Mau Summit Road (A8) and the Nairobi–Maai Mahiu–Naivasha Road (A8 South) should expect temporary traffic disruptions beginning Thursday, July 10, through Sunday, July 20, 2025.
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) issued a public notice on Tuesday, advising road users of intermittent stops as it undertakes a series of scheduled interview surveys and data collection exercises along the busy highways.
The move is part of the government’s plans to dual the highway to ease traffic along the corridor.
The exercise will involve Axle Load Surveys, Origin-Destination Surveys, Camera-Based Cross-Sectional counts, and Turning Movement Counts.
During this period, some motorists may be requested to briefly stop and provide details of their journeys as part of the data-gathering process.
KeNHA has appealed for cooperation from all road users, urging them to comply with traffic marshals and police officers deployed at survey points to facilitate smooth operations and ensure minimal disruption.
“This initiative is aimed at enhancing data accuracy and improving planning for future road infrastructure and traffic management,” the agency said in a statement.
The authority encouraged motorists to plan their journeys in advance and exercise patience during the data collection period.
