NAIROBI, Kenya — Lawmakers allied to the ruling Kenya Kwanza Coalition and the opposition Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) are set to hold a joint Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting on Tuesday to review progress on the parties’ 10-Point Agenda.
According to notices issued by National Assembly leaders Kimani Ichung’wah, Junet Mohamed, and Millie Odhiambo, the meeting will take place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) starting at 10:00 a.m.
Members of Parliament are expected to receive and review the 10-Point Agenda Report prepared by a committee tasked with overseeing the implementation of agreements reached under the broad-based government arrangement.
Committee to present findings
The committee implementing the agenda — known as COIN-10 — is chaired by former nominated senator Agnes Zani.
The team confirmed that its status report and recommendations are ready for submission following months of consultations with stakeholders.
“The committee has remained diligent to its mandate and deliverables. The status report is ready for submission,” the Zani-led team said.
The committee has been conducting consultations since January, engaging government ministries, departments, agencies, civil society organisations, and members of the public.
Its findings are expected to be presented to William Ruto during the joint meeting between Kenya Kwanza and ODM lawmakers.
Policy discussions expected
During the meeting, legislators will also discuss the policy implications of the report’s recommendations and explore how they can be implemented within the current governance framework.
The joint session is also expected to provide a platform for lawmakers aligned with the broad-based government arrangement to deliberate on emerging national issues and outline parliamentary priorities.
Follow-up to the 2025 bipartisan meeting
Tuesday’s meeting follows the inaugural joint parliamentary group session held on August 18, 2025, which was attended by President Ruto and the late ODM leader Raila Odinga.
During that session, leaders unveiled a bipartisan implementation committee tasked with overseeing the execution of the agenda agreed upon by the two political camps in March 2025.
Plans to convene the latest joint meeting earlier were adjusted following the death of Johanna Ng’eno, the Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr.
The upcoming session is expected to outline the next phase of cooperation between the two political blocs as Parliament considers reforms and policy priorities tied to the bipartisan agenda.
